YOU WON'T COME BACK

With every star on the moonlit night,
And every morning when the sun shone bright,
I searched for you like a homeless shack.
But now I know you won't come back.

When winters fell and snowstorms blew,
When Christmas knocked my door and flew,
I looked for you in Santa's sack.
But now I know you won't come back.

With each new leaf born on the tree,
And every new flower that blossomed glee,
I carried a sapling of hope on my back.
But now I know you won't come back.

When rains came and clouds roared,
With thunders and storms on board,
I waited for you on roads all black.
But now I know you won't come back.

When autumn dropped the leaves all dead,
When lifelessness and dryness spread,
My hopes too fell on the leaf-laden track.
Coz now I know you won't come back.

With every season, with every meeting,
At every festival, at every greeting,
My belief waned, my dreams did crack.
Coz now I know you won't come back.
