TO THE ONES WHO SAY "ITS ALL IN YOUR HEAD"

We, the insane, are a different category, a category demarcated by you
We struggle in doing things that are easy for you to do
Yet you see us as an unwanted threat
And walk away saying "It's all in your head"

While you wake up early and plan your day
We struggle to get used to light when the sun makes its way
Yet, with shaky hands, when we try to hold a bread
You walk away saying "It's all in your head"

While you sip your coffee and get ready for work
We struggle to get used to the colour of our new shirt
But if we tear it thread by thread
You walk away saying "It's all in your head"

While you roam around happily with your bunch of friends
We struggle to save our relationships and make amends
Yet, while talking to you, if we fret
You walk away saying "It's all in your head"

You see all colours blue pink green yellow and grey
We see only black and white, much to our dismay
Yet, if we cut ourselves to see the colour red
You walk away saying "It's all in your head"

While you boast of your vocation and how busy your life is
We here struggle to breathe and are living without bliss
Yet when you see our plight and dread
You walk away saying "Its all in your head"

When you fall sick, we tend to you at odd hours
And everybody fills your room with wishes and flowers
But when we tell you we are half dead
You walk away saying "It's all in your head"

You see us as failure, as things unwanted and unclean
And say things that are rude, insensitive and mean
While you could help us heal and send us peacefully to bed
You walk away saying "It's all in your head"
