MY HEART STILL HURTS
I thought I am a stone, tough and hard
Devoid of compassion and regard
But today I realized I am not that curt
When I see you my heart still hurts
It still shudders when your name I blurt
When I see you my heart still hurts
It skipped a beat whenever you smiled
Or glanced at me with your eyes shining bright
But now its bleak as barren deserts
When I see you my heart still hurts
It slowed down when you parted way
And forgot to beat as time did sway
I thought its cold as frozen desserts
But when I see you my heart still hurts
It remembers your eyes, your face and teeth
The way you eat and walk and breathe
But it doesn't recognize your new glasses and shirt
When I see you my heart still hurts
It feels heavy and withered and weary
And hangs like a dead weight, still and dreary
It carries scars of daggers and squirts
When I see you my heart still hurts
Devoid of compassion and regard
But today I realized I am not that curt
When I see you my heart still hurts
It still aches and sends waves of pain
And tremors down my memory laneIt still shudders when your name I blurt
When I see you my heart still hurts
It skipped a beat whenever you smiled
Or glanced at me with your eyes shining bright
But now its bleak as barren deserts
When I see you my heart still hurts
It slowed down when you parted way
And forgot to beat as time did sway
I thought its cold as frozen desserts
But when I see you my heart still hurts
The way you eat and walk and breathe
But it doesn't recognize your new glasses and shirt
When I see you my heart still hurts
It feels heavy and withered and weary
And hangs like a dead weight, still and dreary
It carries scars of daggers and squirts
When I see you my heart still hurts
